Introduction

When customers face too many product choices, finding the right fit can become frustrating. With Hulk Form Builder, you can use conditional logic to create personalized product recommendations based on customer answers, helping shoppers narrow down their options while giving your team more accurate inquiry submissions.

The Challenge: Overwhelming Customers with Too Many Choices

A merchant selling professional photography gear had a problem: they offered 40 different specialized lens kits. When a customer landed on their "Inquiry Form," they were overwhelmed by the long list of choices. Most users didn't know which kit fit their camera, so they would either pick the wrong one or leave the page entirely to "do more research."

The Solution: A Responsive "Discovery" Form

The merchant used Conditional Logic to turn their form into a step-by-step guide. They stopped showing all 40 products at once and started asking questions instead.

  • The Trigger: A Dropdown asking: "What type of photography do you do?"

  • The Interaction: If the user selected "Landscape," the form used the ONE Rule to reveal a Product Choice element that only displayed the 5 lens kits specifically designed for wide-angle nature shots.

  • The Combined Rule: If the customer selected "Wildlife" AND "Professional Grade," the form revealed a different Product Choice element featuring high-end telephoto lenses.

The Steps to Build It

  1. Create Your Questions (The Triggers): Add your Dropdown or Multiple Choice elements (e.g., "Skill Level" or "Industry") and save the form.

  2. Create Your Results (Product Choice): Add a Product Choice element. Add only the specific products that fit a certain category. While this doesn't add a physical item to the cart, it serves as a digital "Add-on" flag that is recorded with the submission.

  3. Connect the Logic: At the bottom of that Product Choice element, turn on Conditional Logic. Set it to show only if the user selects the matching answer in Step 1.

  4. Repeat: Do this for each category. You now have a form that filters your catalog for the customer!

The Benefits: Better Choices and More Accurate Inquiries

  • Simplified Decision-Making: Instead of scrolling through dozens of items, customers only see the three or four products that address their specific needs.

  • Higher Accuracy: You receive a submission that identifies what the customer wants, matched to their stated preferences. No more "I'm not sure what I need" messages.

  • Greater Customer Confidence: By guiding customers through relevant questions, you demonstrate expertise and help them make more informed choices, creating a more helpful buying experience.

Summary

Hulk Form Builder's conditional logic helps turn lengthy product lists into guided discovery experiences. By showing relevant Product Choice options based on customer answers, you can simplify decision-making, reduce mismatched selections, and collect more useful inquiry submissions.
