Save Time with Smarter Workflows: Introducing Shopify Flow Integration for Accentuate
Turn your metafields into real-time automation triggers with Accentuate’s Shopify Flow integration. Save time, reduce manual work, and let your data drive actions across your store.
3 minutes, 45 seconds
Introduction: Bridging the Gap Between Data and Action
At Accentuate, we are always looking for ways to help you do more with your data. For a long time, our users have used Accentuate Custom Fields (ACF) to store detailed, high-quality information about their products and collections. But until now, that data just sat there and waited for someone to manually do something with it.
We are thrilled to announce our new Shopify Flow Integration. This feature changes everything by turning metafields into triggers. Now, when your data changes, your store can actually react in real-time.
The Challenge: Spending Too Much Time on Manual Tasks
Before this update, managing metafields was a two-step process. You would update a field inside Accentuate (like changing a "Product Status" or "Material Type"), but then you would have to manually go into Shopify to tag that product, send an email, or update a collection.
-
The Old Way: Update data → Remember to do the follow-up task → Manually click through Shopify.
-
The Risk: It’s time-consuming, easy to forget, and nearly impossible to manage if you have a large catalog.
The Solution: Real-Time Shopify Flow Triggers
Our new integration allows you to connect your custom data directly to Shopify Flow. By simply checking a box that says Track the value of this field for Shopify Flow, you turn that specific metafield into a remote control for your store’s automation.
Whether you update your data through our editor, use the reference manager, or run a bulk import, Accentuate instantly tells Shopify Flow:
-
Which metafield changed (The Namespace and Key).
-
What the new value is.
-
Which item it belongs to (The Product or Collection ID).
Note: This integration currently supports triggers for Products, Customers, and Orders. We are working hard to expand this to additional scopes very soon!
Example Use Cases
-
Auto-Tagging: Automatically add a Pre-Order tag to a product when a specific metafield value changes.
-
Content Alerts: Trigger an internal Slack message or email when a specific content block is updated.
-
System Syncing: Send updated metafield data to your warehouse or marketing tools automatically via Flow.

The Benefits: Driving Operational Efficiency for Your Business
This isn't just a technical update, it’s a massive boost to your operational efficiency. By automating the busy work, you can focus on growing your brand.
-
Massive Time Savings: No more manual follow-ups. Once you set up a workflow, it runs in the background 24/7.
-
Error-Free Operations: Automation doesn't forget. If a metafield changes, the corresponding action (like tagging a product) happens every single time.
-
Infinite Scalability: Whether you are updating one product or 10,000 via import, the automation handles the load effortlessly.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
This feature is available to all users on any of our Paid Plans. If you are currently on a free trial or a legacy plan, you may need to upgrade to access these triggers.
Yes! One of the best parts of this feature is that it works regardless of how the data is changed. Whether you edit a single field by hand or import a CSV with thousands of changes, the triggers will fire for every tracked field.
It’s easy! Navigate to your field definitions in Accentuate, find the field you want to automate, and check the box labeled Track the value of this field for Shopify Flow.
Not at all! While Shopify Flow is a powerful tool, it uses a visual If/Then builder. As long as you know what action you want to happen when a value changes, you can set it up without writing a single line of code.
