Head of People

You are an experienced HR professional to join and help us build, grow and develop our teams and our people function. This role is a crucial full-time role in spearheading development of our global team of 30+ employees (we currently have 25+ openings!). You will be the driving force behind all HR initiatives, focused on maximising employee engagement and retention.

About the position

  • Lead the People department, overseeing and managing the HR, recruitment, and payroll functions;
  • Develop and execute strategies focused on talent management, organisational effectiveness, employee engagement, recruitment and retention, and more;
  • Establish a performance management program and processes where we can nurture, reward, and develop our talents;
  • Provide guidance and leadership on complex HR issues across the organisation;
  • Work with head of departments on career progression and development in each department and team, developing career paths for every role at Heroes;
  • Driving forward the culture;
  • Provide training and mentorship for managers - developing their management skills, and team leadership.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of human resources experience;
  • Good understanding of UK and international labour legislation;
  • Excellent verbal and written English;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, working collaboratively with head of departments across the business;
  • Experience as a people leader, with a focus on hiring, developing and retaining the best talents;
  • Experience working in a start up or high growth environment is a plus.
