Order Printer Pro Now Sends E-Invoices via Peppol

Until now, sending a compliant B2B e-invoice often meant bouncing between government portals, bolt-on software, and a fair bit of retyping. That era is over.

The new E-Invoicing & Peppol add-on for Order Printer Pro has gone live. Sell to other businesses? You can now build structured XML invoices and push compliant e-invoices onto the Peppol network without ever leaving your Shopify admin. There are no extra portals to log into, no third-party tools to wire up, and no data to re-enter by hand.

And we went past the original promise. We shipped more than we planned.

Why It Matters

B2B e-invoicing across Europe is shifting from optional to mandatory. More and more governments now want structured, machine-readable invoices rather than PDFs or paper, and that expectation is spreading well beyond Europe.

For merchants, the headache has always been the workaround: cobbling together additional software, accountant time, and official portals just to stay compliant. This add-on exists to delete that headache. Formatting, compliance, and delivery now live inside the same tool you already use to produce invoices.

What's Included

There are two capabilities here. Lean on one or take advantage of both.

1. Unlimited XML e-invoice export

Produce structured XML invoices for any order, right from your Shopify admin. Each file packs everything a customer's accounting system needs to import an invoice on its own: complete seller and buyer details, line items, tax broken out per line and per invoice, totals, currency, dates, discounts, and payment terms.

XML export carries no usage cap and isn't limited to the EU, it's open to merchants anywhere. For any B2B customer who would rather receive a data file than a PDF, this on its own is a noticeable step up.

2. Peppol network delivery

In countries where Peppol is the standard channel, Order Printer Pro hands compliant e-invoices directly to the network. You register and verify your business inside the app, and from that point your invoices move securely into your customers' systems.

Now Fully EN 16931 Compliant — UBL and CII Both Supported

At announcement, CII support was still something we had on the roadmap. It has now shipped.

EN 16931, the European e-invoicing standard, permits two technical syntaxes: UBL (Universal Business Language) and CII (Cross Industry Invoice). Order Printer Pro handles both:

• Peppol UBL (BIS 3.0) — the format that dominates the Peppol network and much of the world.

• CII (UN/CEFACT) — the syntax underpinning ZUGFeRD and Factur-X, and the second format accepted for Germany's XRechnung.

The upshot: the add-on now speaks the formats preferred in markets such as Germany and France, alongside those common across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. Whatever your customer's system is expecting, it's handled.

Registered in one of these six? You can send Peppol invoices to any participating country on the network. We deliberately concentrated the first release on these markets to make the experience fully compliant and dependable from day one and we're already building toward more countries.

Built Right Into Your Workflow

It all runs through the new E-Invoicing Hub in your Shopify admin.

• Send one or send many. Transmit a single invoice from an order, or batch-select multiple orders and send them across the network at once.

• See what's ready. The Hub highlights which orders hold the B2B details required to send, so nothing slips through quietly. Enter a customer's Company Name, VAT number, and Peppol address once, and everything after that is automatic. No Peppol address on file? The system will try delivery using the VAT number instead.

• Follow delivery in real time. Statuses refresh live, so you'll know the moment an invoice shows as Peppol sent.

• Manage refunds cleanly. Processed a refund? Fire off a matching Peppol credit note in a couple of clicks so every transaction stays compliant and reconciled.

Getting Started

Setup runs just a few minutes:

1. Head to your Account Page in Order Printer Pro and subscribe to the E-Invoicing & Peppol add-on.

2. Enter your VAT / Tax ID and Enterprise Number under the Tax Identifiers section.

3. Hit Complete Verification to register your business on the network. Verification usually lands within 48 hours, after which your status flips to Registered & Verified.

4. Begin sending compliant e-invoices directly from your orders.
